Announcing Paryavaran Mitra ‘Wipro Foundation Earthian 2018 ', Sustainability Education Programme!

Schools are invited to participate in the Earthian 2018 programme for which entries are open. The schools can do projects on Water and Biodiversity themes. ‘Earthian’ is nationwide initiative of wipro foundation to deepen the sustainability education within schools and colleges across the country. Through a chosen theme, the programme aims to engage teams of students and faculties from schools in a set of activities to understand water and biodiversity in their local context and explore sustainability linkages. Paryavaran Mitra is partnering the programme to strengthen the active pedagogy in schools across the country.

Entries are Open!


Schools can submit entries in the ‘Best School’, ‘Best Student’ and ‘Best Teacher’ categories. Paryavaran Mitra Puraskar is recognition of exemplary leadership shown by schools and its stakeholders in encouraging and engaging students in Handprint actions. The Paryavaran Mitra programme primarily seeks to reach students from class 6 – 8. Programme involves students in problem solving by engaging them in action projects. The action project taken up by students may or may not lead to immediate or significant improvement, but will definitely lay the foundation for sustained efforts through learning outcomes in form of knowledge, disposition, competencies and behavior. In Project Based Learning (PBL), action project/s is an extensive task taken-up by a group of students to apply or illustrate classroom learning. Enrolment is open for the Green Teacher Diploma Programme: CEE’s Distance Learning Programme in Environmental Education

The Green Teacher is a one-year Diploma course for in-service middle school teachers and educators which equip them with the requisite knowledge and skills to effectively transact Environmental Education. The Course has been developed and designed by CEE in partnership with the Commonwealth of Learning, Canada. A distance mode programme, the course is designed to be an exciting and experiential learning journey which will enrich teachers’ knowledge and skills in Environmental Education. It includes two compulsory contact sessions of about five days each, and a six-month project. The self-study hours are approximately 240 .
